PARENT EDUCATION
- By addressing the needs of the whole family, better health outcomes are reported for the infant. Parent Education is a vital part of our program.
- Children living in a higher poverty rate are less likely to do well in school, less likely to stay in school and are ten times more likely to require some kind of government assistance. Our parent education program is designed to help parents become independent of the system, obtain the skills needed to obtain employment and have the income to provide proper nutrition, support and medical care for their children.

Teen Parenting Assistance Program - currently restricted due to the Pandemic
LBWDC provides case management, childcare and follow-up services in support of keeping teen parents in school until graduation. Under normal circumstances, the program includes weekly support groups, mentoring and parenting classes.
Outreach to local schools helps ensure teens gain skills needed to stay in school and make responsible decisions. More than 1100 teens have benefited from the Teen Star Program offered as part of the curriculum.

Because infants grow in a context of nurturing environments, infant mental health involves the psychological balance of the infant-family system
